With comepack, you can align your container management with the VDA recommendation 5501
The VDA recommendation 5501 “RFID in the container management of the supply chain” deals primarily with the technical requirements for RFID transponders in container management.
RFID transponders are perfectly suited for capturing, tracking, and booking reusable containers. Especially useful in this case: their automatic capturing function (for individual containers or in bulk) without any need for visual contact. Moreover, the trackers are outstandingly mechanically robust.
Our internal experts at comepack, who work independently from any RFID manufacturers, are happy to support you in your search for the perfect transponder, as well as optimum positioning on your containers, be it small load carrier, large load carrier, SKU, ESD packaging, or steel pallets. The transponders serve as a means to an end for our container management software, which contains an individual unique tracking function.
The software ensures that:
- containers are exclusively used for transport of production relevant parts (not as garbage cans, or unnecessary storage containers)
- through the definition of minimum stock levels per container and supplier, with a minimum pool size, maximum security of supply is produced
- by automating registration, booking, and order processes, continual process optimization and cost benefit is achieved
While the VDA recommendation is specific to the automotive industry, comepack also manages container pool cycles in the electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, sanitation, heating, air conditioning, construction and pharma industry.
